Valorant Name GeneratorSpin for a Cool Riot ID
Type your name, pick a game, hit spin, and three reels land on a gamer tag that fits that game's real character limit. Valorant, CS2 and Apex Legends are built in.
Valorant mode: every result is 16 characters or fewer, so it works as a Riot ID game name (3 to 16 characters).
Definition: A Valorant name generator is a free tool that builds gamer tags by combining a prefix, a styled version of your name and a suffix. CopyFont's version keeps every result inside the character limit of the game you pick: 16 for a Valorant Riot ID game name, 32 for a CS2 Steam name and 16 for an Apex Legends account name.
What Makes a Good Valorant Name
A Valorant Riot ID is a game name of 3 to 16 characters plus a tagline of 3 to 5 characters after the # sign. Your game name is what teammates read on the scoreboard and hear called out in voice chat, so short and easy to pronounce beats clever and hard to spell. Names built around game words, like Spike, Plant, Peek and Flank, read as Valorant right away without needing an explanation.
The generator mixes a game flavored prefix, your own name in one of seven styles, and a suffix such as _Ace or _Peek. If a combination runs past the limit for the selected game, it tries again until one fits, so what you copy is what you can actually enter.
Character Limits by Game
Game name fields are strict about which characters they accept, so this generator sticks to plain letters, numbers and underscores. Riot's support page describes Riot ID game names as alphanumeric, so if the Riot client rejects an underscore in a generated name, remove it and keep the rest. For a styled look, use the Font Generator on your Discord profile or stream bio, and check the Discord Fonts page for styles that render cleanly there. Rules can change, so confirm the current limit on your platform's account page before you commit.
Riot ID Rules, Straight From Riot
These rules come from Riot's own Riot ID FAQ, checked in October 2026. Riot can change them, so treat the support page as the final word.
- Game name: 3 to 16 alphanumeric characters. It does not have to be unique, as long as the full Riot ID (game name plus tagline) is not already taken. Offensive names are not allowed.
- Tagline: 3 to 5 alphanumeric characters after the # sign. Taglines start with a region code by default, and once you change yours you cannot go back to a region code such as NA1, EUW or BR1.
- Changing it: Riot's FAQ describes a free change on a 90-day cooldown, so pick a name you are happy to keep for three months.

Picking a name that works in a match
- Say it out loud. If a teammate cannot spell it after hearing it once, they will struggle to find or add you.
- Avoid look-alike characters, such as a capital I and a lowercase l, or the letter O and the number 0, because they are hard to tell apart on screen.
- Keep the game name short. Sixteen characters is the limit, but shorter names are easier to read on a scoreboard.
- Use the tagline for a short second identifier, such as initials or a number, instead of packing everything into the game name.
